“The majority of digital cameras still use motion JPEG to capture video, as they have for many years. As the name implies, M-JPEG is unusual in video terms as it compresses each frame individually as a JPEG image. Compared to more advanced video file systems (which use complex inter-frame compression) M-JPEG produces relatively large files, but the picture quality is usually very good, the files can be viewed on almost any modern computer without the need for additional software and they can be uploaded directly to sites like YouTube or emailed as an attachment (so are great for sharing). M-JPEG movies are normally stored in either a QuickTime (.MOV) or an AVI file wrapper.”

Computer-generated imagery[1] (also known as CGI) is the application of the field of computer graphics or, more specifically, 3D computer graphics to special effects in films, television programs, commercials, simulators and simulation generally, and printed media. Video games usually use real-time computer graphics (rarely referred to as CGI)[citation needed], but may also include pre-rendered "cut scenes" and intro movies that would be typical CGI applications. These are sometimes referred to as FMV .

AOL Inc. is paring its ambitions in online social networking, selling a website called Bebo that it bought a little more than two years ago for $850 million when AOL was still part of Time Warner Inc. Bebo, which launched in 2005, has failed to match the huge popularity of sites like Facebook and Twitter. It has been strong in foreign markets, though, including Britain. AOL tried to take advantage of that to drive traffic to its other ad-supported Web properties, but the site has been losing ground. Worldwide, it had about 12.6 million users in April, less than half of the 26.9 million it had in the same month a year ago, according to comScore Inc. In the U.S., Bebo was down to 4.9 million from 10.2 million a year earlier. In the same period, Facebook has grown to 121.8 million users in the U.S. from 67.5 million. AOL said in April it planned to shut Bebo or sell it. The company said Wednesday that the buyer is the private investment firm Criterion Capital Partners LLC. The California…

I studied Comp Sci. It covers a lot of computer science theory, stuff that you don't really need to know to work in the field. Your understanding of it does help your programming, so it's not all useless. It's hard to describe what I mean, state machines, compiler design, parsing techniques etc. It should allow some of the harder electives like AI and image processing.
For basic programming, Web, database, analysis, business focused, general computing is fine.

Don’t worry so much about not understanding that headline. We don’t blame you. The Dalvik Virtual Machine is a behind-the-scenes tool that most of you never see, let alone need to worry about. Same goes for the Just-in-Time compiler — aka the JIT. But those two things are among the main reasons Android 2.2 — Froyo — is leaps and bounds faster than than its predecessors. (Check out our own benchmarking tests if you need proof.) Google’s Dan Bornstein recently took to the Android Developers Blog to explain more about Dalvik and Jit. And he turns it into plain English far better than I could: We added a Just In Time (JIT) compiler to the Dalvik VM. The JIT is a software component which takes application code, analyzes it, and actively translates it into a form that runs faster, doing so while the application continues to run. If you want to learn more about the design of the Dalvik JIT, please watch the excellent talk from Google I/O 2010 given by my colleagues Bill Buzbee and Ben…

A camera to work with a "steady cam" needs to be able to have automatic tracing white balance, auto focus, and auto iris in order to keep up with the changing conditions as you move. This is why you need a camcorder and not a digital still camera in movie mode where these parameters cannot adjust once you start shooting.

The value of cloud computing is reaching another giant of the business world with some help from WeoGeo, an emerging geodata service provider. Pitney Bowes Business Insight (PBBI) is developing a “Data as a Service” (DaaS) platform that it is calling “Project Miami”. The company will use the WeoGeo platform to offer its geodata to Pitney Bowes customers. PBBI will integrate WeoGeo as a SaaS. Project Miami will go live in June. Sponsor Pitney Bowes sees the cloud a rich place to serve its data to clients. But, according to Ventana Research, it took some time to get there. It’s a new initiative came to lie after the less than optimum integrations it did in recent acquisitions such as MapInfo. According to Ventana, Pitney Bowes President Mike Hickey said the company made the shift to a DaaS after a year of discussions with employees and customers. The new approach is a departure for Pitney Bowes from its focus on software. The new service will provide customers with a range of…

Baker however clearly staged his ‘death’, while i brought a highly logical satire version, which made it very clear from the beginning at my own youtube account, and chronologically refined what’s going on.
