This Saturday marks the second anniversary of my blog, which began with an article titled Lithium-ion Batteries and Centerfolds. Over time my archive has grown to 142 articles on energy storage devices, the companies that make them and their crucial role as enabling technologies for wind and solar power, transportation and the smart grid. While cleantech bloggers usually focus on new technologies that might be game-changers, I’d rather focus on major enhancements to proven technologies from established industry leaders. The reason is simple, hot new technologies have limited investment value if the world can’t produce enough raw materials to implement them. Find a micro-niche and I will explain that:
Football would be a market, Football Boots a major niche, Red Football boots a micro niche
You need to find something where you can compete and still make money by selling an affiliates product. There is quite a bit involved and you do need to be patient.
I would recommend getting your own domain and hosting solution. A domain costs about $10 and hosting about $6 a month so low set-up costs. Then write some keyword based pages and sign up with a few affiliates and start to make some revenue.
There's quite a bit to this so have a look at my free help blog. On here you will never be charged for anything and it is full of advice, because I was once like you.

Hi Guys,
Although I am a seasoned PHP Developer, I’m pretty new to WordPress. I was wondering if someone could advise me as to the best way to achieve the following.
I have a blog, which has sections (each section is a separate blog – using the multisite thing in WP3 for this). However, the default section, the ‘/’ blog, doesn’t hold posts of it’s own, it is used to aggregate data from the other blogs to show things like most recent in each section etc.
My question is, how can I get the posts from each blog as fully formed objects and what not. I’m retrieving the data from the posts fine, but what I’m struggling with is, say if you want to show the post’s featured image, you’d use get_the_post_thumbnail() function, but because at that point, it’s not operating out of the blog that the post is assigned to, it’s not retrieving the image.
If anybody have any suggestions on this, I’d really appreciate it.
