How it Used to Be & How it is Now

Blip.tv, your genius is showing…

Just a note to address the video issues going on with this site right now.

Up until today I was paying for a premium video account over at Blip.tv. They have informed me that they have elected to cancel my membership because ”selling through videos is against their policy”.

Strangely enough, as my readers know all too well, I, too am against any selling in my videos, and none of them contain any kind of sales whatsoever.

Further investigation reveals that they have recently cancelled a number of authority sites from the use of their system.

My guess is we were using too much bandwidth, or perhaps Bliv.tv marketing gurus decided that all the exposure we were providing them at no cost was just a bad thing. Maybe they need to get out of the city and get some fresh air, who knows :>)

Needless to say, I strongly advise against the use of Bliv.tv, or any of their services. My staff and I invested about 300 hours in converting and uploading videos to their system, not to mention endorsing them on a massive scale, as well as paying the monthly fees.

So, at this time, as I prepare for the conference next week in Orlando, we are also trying to locate a respectable and professional video service provider to restore the videos on this site and a few others.

As Blip.tv has evidenced that our loyalties to them were ill-placed, I am open to suggestions from eaders on other video service providers capable of multiple format conversions and RSS feeds of video data to iTunes for syndication.

From everything there is something to learn, and in this case I would have to say that we will run a longer trial before committing time and money to future third party service providers.

In the mean time, if you don’t mind putting a note on all of your blogs and sites telling users to avoid using Blip.tv services, I think you will be doing your readers a real service, and they will respect your attempt to protect them

Thank you for your patience as we get this sorted out.

from such unscrupulous service providers.

Cheers!

Let’s Sit Down Together and Work Out Your Plan for a Successful 2009

Hi there!

Let’s work together to make 2009 your gang-buster year!

The best way to start the year off is with a fresh new outlook on business on the web, and a new plan that is workable.

I would love to work with you on your plan, and I invite you to sit down with me in person for a “round table” in Orlando, Florida next month. This is a real opportunity for you and I to meet, discuss your business expectations and aspirations, and work together to develop a viable and workable plan to make 2009 the year that you make your mark in Internet marketing, and get you on the road to success.

I’ll be speaking at the Earn1KaDay Internet Marketing Summit in Orlando, Florida, and have booked some extra time for meeting with you and a few others before and after the conference, which, by the way, will be without a doubt the best deal in Internet marketing conferences for 2009. The goodies I am giving away to the 85 or so (limited spaces available) attendees is worth several times the very reasonable price of attendance.

I do recommend you take some time and consider this chance to get some face time with us. There will be Willie Crawford, Craig Beckta, and a whole host of other interesting and accomplished web marketers there as well. Again, an excellent chance to “soar with the eagles” as it were.

The best way to become something you want to become, is to immerse yourself in that environment. If you wish to build a business on the web, come out and pick the brains of some of the most recognized personalities in the business, plus site down and make a real plan for 2009.

I do hope to hear from you, and to see you there. It is going to be a blast!

PS: bring your golf clubs if you can. I will be looking to exchange marketing tips and ideas with someone that can help me improve my golf swing.  :>)

To reserve your spot for the conference, please go to http://tinyurl.com/earn1kadaysummit

Once you do that, hit the ‘Contact” page link. Send me a short message letting me know you are going, and 2 or 3 dates and times when you would be available to have a sit down.

Don’t worry, I will bring documents and tools to help us make your plan. Would be good to have a couple of ideas jotted down for us to discuss for a starting point. Anything at all, what interests you, what your experience level is, etc.

very best regards, and hope to see you there!

Your business partner for 2009 !

How Do You Get Paid From Clickbank?

For those  familiar with Clickbank, this seems an odd question, but for those that have yet to discover the power of the simplest, most versatile and most trusted company in electronically delivered product affiliate programs, this is a real discovery.
how do you get paid from clickbank? photo pic 2

Personally, I have been happily working with Clickbank for over 8 years.

During this time, I have been paid on time like clockwork, and I honestly cannot remember a single late payment. Now, more recently my checks reached a point where they are sent by courier, but even when I was on the old First Class US Mail system, payment was prompt, which is especially impressive given that my checks had to be mailed to Canada.

I cannot tell you how exciting it has been to watch others that I trained or introduced to affiliate marketing come to a point where they leave their very good paying jobs to do this full time. I get letters pretty much regularly from people taking the plunge and I have to tell it is a scary thing ( I took the plunge after about 4 years of part-time involvement with affiliate marketing and left the Air Force while my wife Amber was in college and three other kids in the public school system) but most of us that planned it well have never looked back.

Now, to understand Clickbank they are essentially the “middle man” in thousands of transactions every day involving products they don’t own, sold to buyers that were introduced to those products by websites or emails from affiliates.

Here is an excerpt from our award-winning “Clickbank Guru” 12 part mini-series that teaches how this all works:

The section below is from Lesson 1 of the ClickBank Guru called “What are Affiliates & Vendors?”

To Golf or Not To Golf – Is This the Toughest Professional Internet Marketer’s Question?

Of course that’s not the toughest question, but it is certainly food for thought, isn’t it?

The early mornings as a full-time affiliate marketer are quite a bit different from how they used to be that’s for sure, but there are significant anomalies elsewhere in my day as well.

It used to be that by around 8 a.m. I had already been working for an hour or so fixing, fueling, and starting Sea King helicopters on the flight line in Shearwater Nova Scotia, which is a military installation just the opposite side of the harbor from Halifax.

Now I find myself considering only one thing once the kids are off to school, and my wife Amber is off to college:

“to golf or not to golf”

It is a complex thought process which involves at very least determining if my clubs are in the car, or if they were even unpacked from the last Internet conference trip. Then, I have to call brother Rick (also an Internet marketer :>) and see if he is available for a round. We usually do the driving range first for a bucket or two refining our slices and hooks into the nets, and then assault 9 or 18 perfectly innocent greens from there.

If the weather is not fair, and you golfers in the readership know the weather has to be REALLY not fair to not play, I take my wireless laptop and do a little reading at the local Tim Horton’s coffee shop which coincidentally serves 2 purposes;

  1. I get to catch up on what is new in the IM world. Doing this for just 30 minutes each day puts you in the top 5% of web marketers for knowledge (Brian Tracy)
  2. I get to greet all the guys I once worked with, many of whom told me I was nuts to even dream of working online. Needless to say, I get a great degree of rather selfish satisfaction fro this. Sad, I know..

This takes me to around mid-morning, which is another story- one about developing real estate with those affiliate marketing dollars- in another post, sorry #;>)
