best blogging sites practices

As a professional blogger, thoughts are your commodity.

They transform through writing into the lifeblood of your blogarticles.

Having said this, sitting down to write with that blank screen can be intimidating if not a little frustrating. Too many times we just “skip it” and go on to something else.

Now, you could just go find an article written by someone else and syndicate it (of course you have to comply with whatever requirements the writer places on syndicating his or her material) but I have always felt that every time we write another piece, we get a little better at it, (I hope) and it becomes a smidge easier.

Now, I can’t make your precious gems of articles appear for you, and believe me, you have plenty to write about that people want to hear, but what I can do is help you get to the point where you are writing.

Here is a trick I use, and so far it has served me pretty well;

Each time you have an idea for an article, even just a tip (like the one you are reading right now)  create a new post in the WordPress Quickie editor, and save it as a draft.

Even if all you write down is a title and nothing else. Do this for each idea you have. Each thought you have that you would like to share. Each inspiration, each word of healing, each idea on how to make something better, everything.

Then, when it comes time to write, just look at your list of drafts on the right hand side of the WordPress admin page and pick the one you want to write about. Te right one for your mood and energy level will reveal itself pretty quickly.

Do you use this method already? Do you have one you feel works well for you right now?

Please leave a comment and share it with others.

Clickbank Thank You Page Magic

The Clickbank Thank You Page is a place where a tremendous number of vendors go off the rails.

Sure, the page complies to the Clickbank requirements, but does it really meet the needs and best serve the interests of the vendor? If it is only built to the minimum Clickbank specs, than no, you can rest assured it does NOT work to your best interest.

Remember, this page is your first contact with the customer after he has given you his money; get a little personal with him. Sure, OTO’s are fine, but let’s make sure everything goes well with his initial purchase item as well.

Let’s make sure there is a picture of a person there smiling away at them, ready to answer their questions about downloads and how to use Winzip (if this applies), and lets make sure there is a telephone number even if it is a message that helps to address whatever types of problems you expect with post-sale.

Lets make sure our Aweber account has a simple series of emails that will automatically go out to the customer ensuring that they had no difficulty accessing the product download and understand how to use it.

Ooops!

How do we connect our Clickbank page with Aweber? Sure, we could put a form in and tell them we will send them updates if they subscribe, but the fact is that only about 40% of them will use the form, and of those almost half will give you the spam email account they never check.

You could force them to fill out a form to get the download, but that would definitely violate the Clickbank agreement.

So, how do we get the real email address from them to make sure a failed download or a misunderstanding or a lack of training on accessing or using the product does not escalate into a refund?

We use the email address they gave Clickbank, they one they get the sales receipt at, which is NEVER the spam email address that they reserve for junk mail.

We will even auto-submit the form in the background for them, and they will never even know it happened.  They agrred to be conatcted by the vendor for customer support issues, and we dont intend to spam them, right?

We are only going to contact them for the follow up to ensure they are happy, have the download, and understand how to use it and how to reach you if they need help.

There are two easy-to-set-up files in the download link below that will take care of all of this for you.

How Much Does Adsense Pay?

The actual process that Google uses to determine how much an advertiser will receive for any individual click is not revealed by them, but based on what we see in terms of historic results you can get a pretty good idea from your site.

Remember that the value of the click is determined by a dynamic ad engine for each page, and for each individual visitor and visitor category. For example, a repeat visitor to your page is worth less money as a click to Google than a new visitor, generally speaking.

There are a few things that are factored in by Google when they are figuring what any particular ad click is worth on your site, not the least of which are: Read the rest of this entry
